Fees are charged on the notional of each order. ROE is net PnL ÷ margin, so leverage raises ROE without changing the dollars you make or lose.

FAQ
- How do you calculate futures PnL?
- For a long, (exit − entry) × quantity; for a short, (entry − exit) × quantity. Net PnL subtracts the opening and closing fees, each charged on the notional value of that order.
- What is ROE?
- Return on equity: net PnL divided by the margin the position used. Leverage doesn't change your PnL in dollars, but it shrinks the margin, so the same trade shows a bigger ROE at higher leverage.
- What is the R-multiple of a trade?
- PnL divided by what you risked between entry and stop. A trade that risked $100 and made $250 is +2.5R. Tracking R lets you compare trades of any size.
